Qcitymetro and the Levine Museum of the New South presents ‘Without Sanctuary: A Discussion’.   Publisher and editor Glenn Burkins of Qcitymetro and the Levine Museum hosted a discussion last week about the museum’s current exhibit ‘Without Sanctuary’.   The exhibit examines 70 images from a larger collection created by antiques collector James Allen.   Allen spent over 25 years gathering postcards and photos of lynchings.   Burkins saw the exhibit as a chance to share what Uptown Charlotte has to offer and as an opportunity to discuss the contents of the exhibit with his readers.   Qcitymetro is an independent online news source for the African American community in Charlotte, North Carolina.

I had a chance to speak with Reverend Lennox Yearwood Jr. president and CEO of the Hip...

Boy Scouts has been a time-honored tradition for over ninety years.  Incorporated in 1910, with a purpose to build character traits that will prepare boys and young men to be responsible participating citizens, but it wasn’t until 1911 that African American...
